Russian drone attack kills two near Ukraine's Kharkiv, governor says
Two people were killed by Russian drones near Ukraine's Kharkiv overnight, regional governor Oleh Syniehubov said Wednesday, with 11 others suffering stress reactions in the attack on private houses. In Kyiv, a Russian air strike hit a high-storey apartment building and transport infrastructure, causing fires, while a strike on a university in Kremenchuk injured two people. Russia's defence ministry said its drones hit a cargo vessel carrying military supplies to Ukraine and a warehouse for drone storage in Poltava. The strikes came ahead of a scheduled meeting between US envoy Steve Witkoff and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday, following Witkoff's "constructive" talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in Norway on Tuesday.
