EU urges SpaceX to restore satellite services for Ukraine
The European Union has demanded that SpaceX fully restore satellite services to Ukraine, citing deep concern over reported restrictions that could compromise military communications and civilian protection. The EU spokesperson stressed Ukraine's critical need for these services to maintain military communications, protect civilians, and control defensive drones. The bloc also highlighted Europe's dependence on space infrastructure, promoting its Iris2 system as a strategic alternative. These developments coincide with US envoy Steve Witkoff's visit to Saint Petersburg, where he presented Russian President Vladimir Putin with new documents outlining approaches to resolve the Ukraine conflict. Kremlin officials described European and Ukrainian proposals as lacking significant value.
