Russian drone strikes kill two near Kharkiv, governor says
Russian drones killed two people near Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city, overnight, regional governor Oleh Syniehubov said Wednesday on Telegram. Eleven others suffered stress reactions in the attack that hit private houses. In Kyiv, a Russian airstrike hit a high-rise apartment building and transport infrastructure, causing fires, Mayor Vitalii Klitschko reported. A strike on a university in Kremenchuk, Poltava region, injured two people, local authorities said. The strikes came ahead of a scheduled meeting between US envoy Steve Witkoff and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday. A US official said Witkoff held "constructive" talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in Norway on Tuesday.
