Rubio: Without US Aid, Ukraine Would Not Exist Today
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Ukraine would not exist as a sovereign state today without American aid provided under both the Biden and Trump administrations, and rejected Ukrainian officials' claims that Washington has limited assistance to Kyiv. Rubio asserted that no other country has provided Ukraine with as much help as the United States, saying claims by Ukrainian leaders that America refused them something are false. He emphasized that millions of lives have been saved through U.S. assistance during the full-scale war. Rubio acknowledged the courage of Ukrainian defenders, while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky previously said Ukrainians would maintain their independent state even without U.S. help, though forcing Russian President Vladimir Putin to peace would be problematic. Rubio and Zelensky recently discussed intelligence sharing, Starlink, and Patriot interceptor delays.
