Putin agrees to resume trilateral talks with Kiev and Washington

jornaldenegocios.pt (Portuguese) —

Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed in principle to resume trilateral negotiations with Washington and Kiev to end the war in Ukraine, following a meeting with US envoy Steve Witkoff in St. Petersburg. Putin's foreign policy adviser Yuri Ushakov said talks would focus on creating a security system for both countries after the conflict, with negotiations set to resume after November 10. Witkoff had met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Oslo the previous day. Zelensky called for a battlefield pause as a starting point for negotiations, while Russia and Ukraine remain deeply divided on terms and continue fighting despite a previously agreed ceasefire on energy infrastructure.
