Russian missile and drone strikes on Kyiv kill one, injure 22 after peace talk agreement
Russian attacks on Kyiv with ballistic missiles and drones killed one person and injured 22, Ukrainian authorities said Thursday. The strikes came hours after the Kremlin agreed to restart U.S.-brokered peace talks. The attack damaged homes, transportation infrastructure, and civilian sites across several districts, with one death and six wounded, including a child, in the Dniprovskyi district. Russia agreed "in principle" to resume three-way negotiations after Nov. 10, following a Putin meeting with U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy backed the talks but remained cautious, saying "We'll see what happens this time" shortly before missile alerts sounded over Kyiv.
