Russia Strikes Ukraine With Missiles and Drones After Putin-U.S. Talks

Russia launched a major missile and drone attack on Ukraine hours after U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff met with President Vladimir Putin, with no breakthrough in talks. The Ukrainian Air Force reported the assault began at 6 p.m. local time Wednesday, using Iskander-M, S-400, Zircon and Onyx missiles from Russian regions, plus 210 Shahed drones, most of which were downed. Witkoff had called Putin a "humanitarian" following Moscow's release of American prisoner Stephen Hubbard, but the bombardment underscored ongoing hostilities as the war continues.
