Putin Agrees to Resume Trilateral Talks with US and Ukraine
Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed in principle to resume trilateral negotiations with the US and Ukraine on ending the war, with talks set to restart after November 10, according to a Kremlin official. The agreement was announced by Putin's foreign affairs adviser Yuri Ushakov following a three-hour meeting between Putin and US President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff in St Petersburg. The proposed talks will focus on building a post-conflict security system for both nations. Witkoff's visit came after he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Oslo, where he described discussions as "productive." Despite the diplomatic push, Russia and Ukraine remain far apart on settlement terms, and no imminent breakthrough is expected.
