Russia Strikes Kyiv Hours After Agreeing to Peace Talks
Russian attacks on Kyiv with ballistic missiles and drones killed one person and wounded 22, Ukrainian authorities said Thursday, hours after the Kremlin agreed to resume U.S.-brokered peace talks. The strikes damaged homes, transport infrastructure and civilian sites across several districts, with one death and six injuries, including a child, reported in the Dniprovskyi district. The attacks followed Russia's agreement "in principle" to three-way negotiations with the U.S. and Ukraine after Nov. 10. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy backed the talks but expressed caution, saying "We'll see what happens this time" shortly before missile alerts sounded over the capital. The agreement came after Putin met with U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff.
