Musk Slows Military Starlink Version Ukraine Relies On

aawsat.com (Arabic) —

Elon Musk ordered last week to slow down a military version of the Starlink service that Ukraine relies on, according to US officials and informed sources cited by the Wall Street Journal on Tuesday. Neither Musk, SpaceX, nor the White House has commented yet. The restrictions on Starlink have hindered Ukraine's attacks and drone-based air defense missions against Russian strikes. The report said Musk and President Donald Trump discussed the decision in a phone call shortly after the slowdown became public, and also before the service restriction was implemented. Trump has turned against Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after lifting sanctions on Russian diesel to ease fuel prices, urging Kyiv to stop attacking Russian refineries and replace Zelensky. Trump said Friday he doesn't believe he or Musk is responsible for Ukraine losing Starlink access in a way that affected military operations.
