Finnish President Alexander Stubb said the peace process has been relaunched ahead of US envoy Steve Witkoff's visit to Russia, calling October 20 "a good day for peace" at a press briefing in Oslo. Stubb noted significant progress made discreetly over the past week, emphasizing that US priorities focus on a peaceful resolution to Russia's war in Ukraine. He said Witkoff's signals from St. Petersburg on October 22 would be crucial. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated Witkoff will deliver a document to Russia outlining security guarantee options for Ukraine, including NATO membership and Article 5-style protections.
