US envoy to propose Putin-Zelensky-Trump talks in Moscow
U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff will propose direct trilateral talks between Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, and Volodymyr Zelensky during his upcoming visit to Moscow, according to Politico. Witkoff travels to Russia on Wednesday to present ceasefire proposals developed with European and American colleagues. Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre said the envoy will exchange ideas with Russian leadership, potentially paving the way for a leaders-level summit. Such a meeting would mark the first trilateral summit since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Zelensky called the idea important, noting some matters can only be resolved by leaders, while warning Russia responded to energy ceasefire proposals with continued attacks.
