Trump: Putin and Zelensky don't need to meet in person for a deal
President Donald Trump stated that Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky do not need to be in the same room to reach an agreement, as reported from his October 20 press conference. Trump added that both Ukraine and Russia are losing many people, but Russia is a vast country while Ukraine is not. He said Zelensky should seek to end the war, warning of very bad consequences if he does not, noting the U.S. and Europe have spent fortunes and Europe is tired of it. Trump reiterated that the hatred between Putin and Zelensky is "just huge," which he cited as the main reason no deal has been reached. He said he doesn't care how it's done, and also repeated his anecdote about a "stupid Russian general" getting lost in mud on the way to Kyiv.
