Kyiv drone attacks kill four as US-Russia peace talks stall
Russian drone attacks struck Kyiv overnight, killing two people and damaging a residential building, as diplomatic efforts between the US, Russia, and Ukraine continued. The attack hit the 20th floor of a 24-story building in Kyiv's Sviatoshynskyi district, sparking a fire that killed two and injured at least two others. Russian forces also bombed energy infrastructure in Kyiv, Volyn, Odesa, and Mykolajiv, while a separate drone attack on a village in the Kharkiv region killed two more people. US envoy Steve Witkoff met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg, presenting a proposed peace agreement. Putin agreed in principle to resume trilateral talks with Washington and Kyiv after November 10. Ukraine reacted with anger to Witkoff's description of Putin as a "humanitarian person," with both sides remaining far apart on terms.
