Zelenskyy welcomes US resuming strike warnings as Kyiv pushes for seat at talks
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy welcomed the resumption of US intelligence sharing on imminent Russian strikes, while stressing that Kyiv must be included in any future negotiations about its fate following meetings with US envoys in Oslo on Tuesday. Zelenskyy said the early warning system is vital for protecting civilians from incoming ballistic missiles, and confirmed "substantive" talks with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. He also said Starshield satellite communications could be restored within 48 hours, after Ukraine reported reduced speeds on the military system. Relations between Kyiv and Washington have deteriorated since President Donald Trump partially lifted sanctions for a diesel deal with Russia and called Zelenskyy a warmonger. Trump has proposed a trilateral meeting with Putin and Xi Jinping, while US envoy Steve Witkoff is set to travel to Russia for further discussions.
