US envoy Witkoff heads to Russia for talks after Oslo meeting
US envoy Steve Witkoff will travel to Russia on Wednesday for further talks, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre announced at a press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Finnish President Alexander Stubb. Witkoff will visit St. Petersburg to present proposals raised in Oslo to the Russian side. Zelenskyy said Ukraine has "clear ideas on how to achieve peace" and suggested a potential trilateral meeting with Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, adding "we'll see what Putin says about that." Zelenskyy denied Ukraine is losing the war, saying "we are losing people. And time." He noted "clear positive signals" from the US, including discussions on security guarantees, NATO's Article 5, Starlink, and Patriot systems, while expressing gratitude that intelligence sharing has resumed.
