Stubb and Zelenskyy meet in Oslo to discuss Ukraine's war strategy
Finnish President Alexander Stubb met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre in Oslo on Tuesday to discuss the war in Ukraine, with US special envoy Steve Witkoff also participating. Zelenskyy stressed the need to end the war as quickly as possible and for strong security guarantees for Ukraine afterward. When asked if Ukraine was losing the war, he replied, "We are not losing the war, we are losing people and time." Støre said Europe must participate more forcefully in peace negotiations. Witkoff will travel to Russia on Wednesday to inform President Vladimir Putin about Western proposals. US-Ukraine relations have recently strained, with Trump suggesting Ukraine should change leaders and Zelenskyy accusing the US of withholding intelligence and slowing arms deliveries. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio denied these claims, saying the US considers its own and allies' needs.
