Russia resumes diesel exports to Turkey and Brazil after US-brokered deal
Russia is resuming diesel exports to two key buyers after a US-brokered deal, according to Reuters. Tankers are now heading to Turkey and Brazil following the lifting of an export ban. At least two tankers signaled voyages to Turkey and Brazil in recent days, per Kpler and LSEG data. The Leruo departed from Primorsk on October 16 for Manaus, Brazil, while the Dolunay left on October 14 for Alanya, Turkey. Turkey received about 34% of Russian diesel this year, and Brazil 24%. Russia was the world's second-largest diesel exporter but cut shipments this summer after Ukrainian attacks on its refineries. The US Treasury issued a license allowing diesel supplies until April 7, 2027, potentially returning millions of tons to the global market.
