US officials pressure Zelenskyj in Oslo to accept peace deal
US officials are using a meeting in Oslo to pressure Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj into a peace deal, according to the New York Times, as relations between Zelenskyj and US President Donald Trump have grown colder than ever. The talks include US special envoy Steve Witkoff, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, with Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner joining digitally. Witkoff is scheduled to travel to Russia on Wednesday to meet President Vladimir Putin, while US Secretary of State Marco Rubio denied halting intelligence sharing with Ukraine. The meeting follows Trump's Sunday claim that Zelenskyj "doesn't want to end the war," while Zelenskyj accused the US of pushing Ukraine toward capitulation. Earlier Tuesday, Zelenskyj met King Haakon, discussing kidnapped Ukrainian children and the "horrific" situation in occupied Oleshky.
