Ukrainian drones strike Moscow, Lipetsk, and Tula overnight
On the night of October 22, drones attacked several Russian regions, including Moscow, Lipetsk, and Tula, with Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reporting 90 drones intercepted over the capital between 2:22 and 3:41 AM. Explosions were heard in Lipetsk, where a fire broke out in a multi-story building after debris fell, as well as in Tula, Kursk, and Belgorod regions. Emergency services are working at debris impact sites in Moscow, and a drone attack threat was declared in St. Petersburg. These mass drone attacks on Russia have continued for multiple nights, following a strike of over 900 drones on October 14 and an October 18 attack that hit Moscow and St. Petersburg. Russia has reinforced air defenses around key facilities, such as the Alabuga economic zone in Tatarstan, which now has 33 air defense positions.
