Ukrainian Strike on Proton Plant in Oryol Destroys Key Workshop for Iskander Components

nv.ua (Ukrainian) —

A Ukrainian strike using Storm Shadow missiles on the Russian city of Oryol has critically damaged or likely destroyed at least one production workshop at the Proton plant, according to the OSINT project Exilenova+. The attack on October 23 caused the collapse of upper floors, the roof, and the facade of a key assembly building, making further work on its technological lines impossible. The facility also housed Proton-Impuls and Proton-Electrotex, which supplied microelectronics for Russian weapons. These enterprises produced components for T-90 and T-14 Armata tanks, Pantsir-S1 systems, Iskander-M ballistic missiles, and other military equipment. Defense Express notes the loss could significantly impact Russia's defense industry, with replacing specialized personnel proving more difficult than repairing the damaged infrastructure.
