Moscow airports shut as drones strike the capital
Moscow is under a drone attack, and all capital city airports have temporarily suspended arrivals and departures, according to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. Russian media report Ukrainian drones are attempting to breach Moscow's air defenses. Sobyanin reported the destruction of 11 drones in total across four statements, starting at 13:38 with four drones, then two more, two additional ones, and finally three intercepted by Russian air defense. Emergency services are working at debris fall sites. The attack involves drones reportedly launched from carriers, prompting the closure of all Moscow airports for incoming and outgoing flights. The situation marks a significant escalation in aerial strikes targeting the Russian capital.
