Ukraine Prepares Humanitarian Corridor for Occupied Oleshky in Kherson Region

ua.korrespondent.net (Ukrainian) —

Ukraine is preparing to ensure humanitarian access to the occupied town of Oleshky in the Kherson region, with the Armed Forces of Ukraine set to carry out the mission. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that military units will receive orders to conduct the humanitarian operation, noting that delivering aid to Oleshky residents is not a new task, as Ukrainian units have previously used drones to deliver supplies. David Arakhamia, head of the Servant of the People faction, said an operation to deblock the town will begin soon, with the main goal of establishing permanent corridors for civilian evacuation and aid delivery. Russia has also announced a silence regime starting at 3:00 Kyiv time on October 27 and intends to ensure safe passage for a humanitarian convoy to Oleshky. The situation follows reports that First Lady Melania Trump helped broker a ceasefire in the town, which is facing a humanitarian catastrophe.
