Trump says Musk restored Ukraine's Starlink access, avoids call question
President Donald Trump said Thursday that SpaceX CEO Elon Musk restored Ukraine's Starlink access, but declined to comment on whether he personally spoke to Musk about the matter. The Wall Street Journal reported Trump called Musk to lift restrictions. Ukraine relies on Starlink for battlefield communications and drone operations, and the service cap had hampered attack and air defense missions against Russia. The system was working more normally Thursday, though Ukrainian officials said speeds weren't fully restored. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said speeds remained capped and hoped for talks with Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Trump denied involvement in the slowdown, while Rubio said decisions were up to SpaceX. The dispute follows Trump's recent moves to buy Russian diesel and waive sanctions.
