Russia Launches 21 Ballistic Missiles at Kyiv After Talks, Zelensky Says
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that Russia launched 21 ballistic missiles at Kyiv in three waves overnight, killing two people and injuring 34, including five children. He stated the attack came immediately after negotiations, showing no real change in Russia's approach. The strikes targeted 12 Ukrainian regions, damaging residential buildings, energy infrastructure, a railway station, metro, shopping centers, businesses, and a monastery. Emergency services are working at all affected sites, according to the president's Telegram post on Thursday, October 22. Zelensky called for increased air defense support, faster missile deliveries, and sanctions against Russia, emphasizing that real pressure is needed to end the war. Russia also attacked with 210 drones, most of which were shot down by Ukrainian air defense.
