Sikorski rebukes Musk's false claims about US aid to Ukraine
Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski responded on X to Elon Musk's claims that US taxpayer money is allegedly going to Ukraine, calling the billionaire's statements false and harmful to his own brand. Musk wrote that there is a "colossal" gap between Ukrainian elites and the people, claiming the former "greatly enriched themselves on hundreds of billions" from US taxpayers and that some aid returns to America to fund political campaigns. Sikorski countered that the US stopped funding Ukraine last year, and American companies now only earn from weapons paid for by NATO countries, including Europe. In 2025, the PURL program was launched, under which NATO members finance weapons purchased from the US for Ukraine's defense. Sikorski warned Musk that interfering in politics and using his products for political purposes damages his brand.
