Starlink restored for Ukraine after week-long disruption, Trump confirms

n-tv.de (German) —

Starlink satellite internet service for Ukrainian military has been restored after more than a week of throttling, US President Donald Trump confirmed Friday, without providing details on who ordered the restriction or its removal. The Starshield military communications system, operated by Elon Musk's SpaceX, is now running at higher speeds, though not yet fully functional, according to the Wall Street Journal citing Ukrainian and US officials. Trump said he would not disclose whether he spoke with Musk about the issue, noting "bottom line, he turned it back on." Both the White House and Musk had denied responsibility for the slowdown, which reportedly disabled some Ukrainian drones. The disruption came amid deteriorating Kyiv-Washington relations, including Trump's diesel fuel deal with Moscow and his call for President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's replacement.
