Trump says Musk restored Ukraine's Starlink access after restrictions
President Trump announced that Elon Musk has restored Ukraine's internet access, hours after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Starlink connectivity had not been fully restored. Trump declined to confirm pressure on Musk but stated, "Bottom line, he put it back." The restrictions had hampered Ukraine's drone operations against Russia, with speeds reportedly capped at around 160km/h. Zelensky said speeds had not returned to 400km/h, and he awaited information from US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The Wall Street Journal reported Trump called Musk to lift limits. The slowdown occurred as Trump pressured Zelensky to stop attacking Russian oil refineries, citing price rises. Trump has waived some sanctions and agreed to import Russian diesel ahead of midterm elections, drawing criticism from Ukraine and European allies. BBC News has not confirmed the Journal's report.
