US lawmakers urge Trump to expand Ukraine's Starlink access
23 US lawmakers have sent a letter to President Donald Trump urging him to ask Elon Musk to grant Ukraine full access to Starlink satellite systems for targeting Russian missile launchers. The letter was signed by seven Republicans and 16 Democrats. The lawmakers argue that a single phone call from Trump could save lives and create stronger incentives for Vladimir Putin to negotiate. They stated that if Ukraine cannot intercept Russian missiles, it should be able to target the launchers, which Starlink could enable. The bipartisan letter comes amid growing Republican frustration over Starlink and Starshield disruptions in Ukraine, as well as reports that Musk personally ordered a slowdown of Starshield operations. Congress members also cited a secret Russian influence campaign ahead of elections.
