Trump declines to confirm if he called Musk to restore Starlink for Ukraine
President Trump declined Thursday to confirm whether he personally called SpaceX founder Elon Musk to restore Starlink service for Ukraine, saying he did not want to comment on the matter. Trump told reporters he knew the situation was "very interesting" but said whether he or someone else made the call made no difference, adding that Musk ultimately restored the service. The Wall Street Journal reported Trump called Musk on Wednesday to lift the slowdown of Starlink and Starshield services, which had been capped at roughly 100 miles per hour. The satellite services are vital for Ukraine's defense against Russian attacks, and Trump previously denied involvement in the slowdown. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth both characterized the issue as a private commercial matter governed by Starlink's terms of service.
