Ukrainian drone attack on Lipetsk causes explosions and fires
Ukrainian forces launched a drone attack on the Russian city of Lipetsk overnight, causing explosions and fires, according to monitoring channels. The strike damaged residential buildings and a clinic, with the extent of damage yet to be independently verified. Witness footage showed drones flying low over the city and fires illuminating the night sky. Lipetsk, located 335 kilometers east of the Ukrainian border with a population of about 500,000, houses the Novolipetsk Steel Plant, Russia's largest steelworks accounting for roughly 20% of national crude steel output. Regional governor Igor Artamonov reported window and facade damage to several residential buildings and a closed clinic. Ukrainian forces have previously targeted Lipetsk with drone strikes.
