Russian air defense intercepts five drones approaching Moscow

gazeta.ru (Russian) —

Russian air defense systems shot down five drones approaching Moscow, according to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, who said emergency services are working at the debris sites. The announcement was made via the "Max" messenger service. The previous day, Russia's Ministry of Defense reported intercepting 51 aircraft-type drones over several regions and the Black Sea between 08:00 and 20:00 Moscow time. This follows an October 18 statement by Sobyanin that 512 Ukrainian drones attempted to attack the Moscow region in a single day, with most destroyed at distant approaches and 127 closer to the city. Ukrainian forces have also recently attacked Ryazan with missiles and drones, according to earlier reports.
