Ukraine to launch operation to unblock occupied Oleshky in Kherson region
An operation to unblock the occupied city of Oleshky in the Kherson region, which is on the brink of a humanitarian catastrophe, will begin soon, according to David Arakhamia, head of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction. Arakhamia stated the operation aims to create permanent humanitarian corridors for safe civilian evacuation and aid delivery. He said a ceasefire will be achieved soon, crediting US First Lady Melania Trump and Pope Francis for their roles in the process, with details to be provided by Ukraine's Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets. The White House previously announced that Melania Trump secured a truce starting October 29 between Ukraine and Russian forces in occupied Oleshky to allow humanitarian aid and prepare civilian evacuation through a designated safe passage.
