Ukraine to launch operation to unblock occupied Oleshky

pravda.com.ua (Russian) —

Ukrainian parliamentarian Davyd Arakhamia announced an imminent operation to unblock the Russian-occupied city of Oleshky, which faces a humanitarian catastrophe. The operation aims to establish permanent humanitarian corridors for civilian evacuation and aid delivery. Arakhamia stated a ceasefire regime will be secured to enable the corridors, crediting the mediation efforts of Pope Francis and U.S. First Lady Melania Trump. He said details of the operation will be provided by Ukraine's ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets. The White House previously announced Melania Trump brokered a truce in Oleshky. The announcement follows earlier efforts by EU officials and a papal call with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the city's dire situation.
