Russia strikes Kyiv's historic center with cluster-tipped Iskander missile
Russia attacked central Kyiv with an Iskander ballistic missile carrying a cluster warhead on the night of October 22, according to Ukrainian presidential advisor Serhiy Beskrestnov. The strike targeted the historic center of the capital. Beskrestnov said the K5 cluster warhead disperses 58 submunitions over an area of roughly 400 by 400 meters. He stated the attack had no military purpose and was aimed at destroying historic buildings and harming civilians, with casualties and damage reported. The advisor, known by the call sign "Flash," said the weapon is designed to hit large numbers of people and equipment across a wide area. The attack resulted in wounded civilians and destruction in the city center.
