Putin, Trump, and Xi ready for trilateral summit, Kremlin says

korrespondent.net (Russian) —

Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said leaders of Russia, China, and the US have confirmed readiness for a trilateral meeting on the sidelines of the APEC summit in Shenzhen on November 18-19. He stated no capital rejects the idea of such a summit. Ushakov told Russian media on Wednesday, October 21, that experts have prepared the meeting, but all leaders must be in the same place at the same time. He called it a potentially historic first meeting of leaders from three major countries, with Chinese hosts handling preparations. The Wall Street Journal earlier reported Putin proposed the trilateral meeting to Trump and Xi to discuss ending the war in Ukraine on terms favorable to Russia. Kyiv said a US-China-Russia format would encourage Putin's aggression, while a Ukraine-US-Russia meeting could accelerate the war's end.
