Kyiv and region face emergency power outages after Russian strikes
Emergency power outages have been introduced in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, according to DTEK, following an instruction from Ukrenergo. The company did not specify the affected districts or the reasons for the restrictions. Outages outside of schedules are currently recorded on the right bank of Kyiv, while some subscribers in the capital and region still have electricity. Emergency shutdowns are typically implemented due to the consequences of Russian attacks. Experts warn that bureaucratic delays in receiving energy equipment from Europe may slow repairs. Forecasts suggest winter outages could last at least 12 hours daily nationwide, potentially reaching 20 hours in some regions during freezing temperatures.
