Russia resumes diesel exports after Trump deal, Kremlin says

timesofindia.indiatimes.com —

Russian diesel exports have reached global markets following an agreement with US President Donald Trump, the Kremlin said Thursday, adding the supplies could help stabilize oil markets but would not fully achieve that goal. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the shipments began after Moscow partially lifted its diesel export ban on October 10. Shipping data shows a tanker carrying around 40,000 metric tonnes of ultra-low sulphur diesel loaded from Primorsk on October 13, heading to Morocco. Trump announced Russia would supply over 300,000 tonnes immediately, with additional volumes in November. The initial volume amounts to less than a day's supply for the US transport sector, which consumes about 2.94 million barrels daily. The deal has drawn criticism from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European officials, while the Kremlin accused Kyiv of undermining US peace efforts following a drone attack on a Russian refinery.
