Russia sends senior officials to U.S.-Ukraine talks in Abu Dhabi

themoscowtimes.com —

Russia will send senior military officials and diplomats, including Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, to trilateral talks with the U.S. and Ukraine next week in Abu Dhabi, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Saturday. The Tuesday-Wednesday meeting, the first since February, aims to end Moscow's war against Ukraine. Kremlin aide Vladimir Medinsky will lead the delegation, joined by Ryabkov and senior General Staff officer Yury Zhigarlovsky, among others. The delegation met President Vladimir Putin on Friday at a Security Council meeting partly devoted to the talks. Putin thanked the UAE for hosting and discussed preparations, with most of the session held behind closed doors.
