Russian Strikes on Ukrainian Energy Grid Disrupt Heating in Kyiv
Russian strikes targeted Ukrainian energy infrastructure overnight, causing power outages in five regions and disrupting heating in Kyiv. Moscow used 36 missiles and 172 drones in the attack, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky. The Ukrainian Energy Ministry reported significant damage to transport and distribution networks in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, and Kharkiv regions. At least nine people were wounded, including a child, across roughly ten regions. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said the capital's energy supply situation is extremely difficult, affecting heating and water systems. The North Bridge over the Dnieper was hit, blocking traffic. Zelensky linked the strikes to upcoming trilateral talks in Abu Dhabi on November 10-11.
