Emergency power outages hit Kyiv and four Ukrainian regions
Emergency power outages have been introduced in Kyiv and four Ukrainian regions due to the difficult situation in the energy system, Ukrenergo reported on Friday, November 6. The outages cover five queues in Kyiv, Kyiv Oblast, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, and Cherkasy regions. The situation is especially challenging in Kyiv, where schedules may change frequently throughout the day. The measures are needed to prevent voltage drops in the system. New outages were also reported in Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions following Russian attacks overnight. Restoration work is ongoing where security conditions permit. Industrial power limits and hourly outage schedules of 2.5 to 4 queues apply in some regions.
