Ukraine's Budanov on Abu Dhabi talks: No breakthrough expected, dialogue resumption is progress

gordonua.com (Russian) —

Negotiations between Ukraine and Russia are scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi, with Ukrainian official Kyrylo Budanov stating he does not expect a breakthrough but views the resumption of direct dialogue as progress. Budanov confirmed the talks will be the first face-to-face meeting between the two sides in several months. He will be part of the Ukrainian delegation, though not its head, following a clarification from presidential advisor Dmytro Lytvyn. The Russian delegation will be led by Vladimir Medinsky, while the United States will act as mediator. The working-level talks are planned for November 10-11, following the recent reshuffling of Ukraine's negotiation team.
