Trump hints at broad Europe-wide deal after meeting Putin envoy
President Donald Trump said he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin's envoy Kirill Dmitriev on Thursday and teased a "big, beautiful agreement" that would extend beyond Ukraine to potentially cover all of Europe. Trump declined to disclose details of the discussion but stated the deal would involve more than Ukraine, adding that "everyone's gonna be thrilled." Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law and diplomatic envoy, said the president discussed building a "broader European security architecture" with European leaders to establish lasting peace. The comments precede U.S.-brokered peace talks in Abu Dhabi scheduled for Nov. 10-11 with Russian and Ukrainian officials. Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 and is expected to intensify attacks on Kyiv this winter.
