Kyiv Faces Worst Power Crisis Amid Russian Attacks, Zelensky Says
Kyiv is facing the most difficult situation among all Ukrainian regions due to Russian attacks and the quality of local authorities' preparation for their consequences, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky. Zelensky stated that Russian forces deliberately strike networks to cut the connection between electricity generation and consumers, leaving Kyiv physically unable to receive the necessary power. He criticized officials for insufficient speed and demanded changes to water utility management if needed. The president cited an incident where Kyiv residents blocked a road over prolonged outages, with police quickly bringing repair crews to the site. Kyiv is gradually restoring water supply, and experts predict planned power cuts will not exceed 12 hours daily.
