Russia Strikes Kyiv Bridge, Ukraine Hits Saratov Refinery

lastampa.it (Italian) —

Russia struck Kyiv's Severny road bridge, which Moscow claims was used to transfer weapons to Ukrainian forces, as part of a massive attack on military, energy, and transport infrastructure in the capital and surrounding region. Ukrainian drone raids set fire to the Saratov refinery in southwest Russia, one of the country's oldest operating facilities, while another attack burned 8,000 square meters of a warehouse in Rostov-on-Don. Russian strikes also damaged energy infrastructure in Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions, leaving the capital's electricity supply in a critical state, according to Mayor Vitali Klitschko. President Volodymyr Zelensky told CNN that Moscow has shown no signs of readiness to end the war, warning that discussions about a new European security architecture without addressing the conflict are dangerous and risk creating a "Yalta 2.0."
