Zelenskyy asks Latin American leaders for urgent help to repair Ukraine's power grid
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged Latin American leaders on Thursday to send urgent aid to repair his country's power grid, stating that all Ukrainian power plants have been damaged by Russian attacks. He made the appeal at the 30th Ibero-American Summit in Madrid. Zelenskyy requested equipment compatible with Ukraine's electrical network, including transformers, diesel generators, cables, and electronic gear, asking for direct business contacts to speed delivery. He also met with European Council President António Costa and European Commission Vice-President Teresa Ribera to discuss these priorities. In his first appearance at the summit, Zelenskyy condemned Russia's daily "mass killings" and thanked Spain for its support. He also briefed King Felipe VI on the attacks and said Ukraine is working with partners to strengthen its air defense.
