Kyiv hit by over 20 explosions in two-wave missile attack on energy grid
More than 20 explosions rocked Kyiv overnight into November 7 during a massive Russian missile and drone attack targeting Ukraine's energy infrastructure, causing large fires visible across the city. The attack came in two waves, starting around 23:50 with Iskander-M ballistic missiles striking Kyiv's thermal power plant No. 5, followed by a second wave at approximately 02:00 using Zircon hypersonic missiles. Targets reportedly included the Trypillya power station, the Kyivska 750 kV substation, and thermal power plant No. 6. The strikes mark the latest in a series of attacks on Kyiv's energy grid, following similar assaults on October 27 and November 4. Mayor Vitali Klitschko had previously warned of a difficult electricity supply situation in the capital.
