Russia launches new missile attack on Kyiv and surrounding region
Russia has launched a new missile attack on Kyiv and its surrounding region, targeting infrastructure objects in multiple waves. More than a dozen explosions were heard in the city center, with no immediate information on casualties or damage. The attacks reportedly targeted thermal power plants in the city and south of Kyiv, as well as a substation west of the capital. This followed President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's warning of a new Russian assault on energy facilities and Dnipro bridges. Russia has intensified strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure for weeks, forcing millions to endure hours-long power, water, and heating outages. The attacks are part of Russia's ongoing war against Ukraine since 2022.
