Death toll in KamyShevakha strike rises to 53
The death toll from a Russian airstrike on a humanitarian aid distribution point in KamyShevakha has risen to 53 people, local authorities reported on Friday, November 6. Search and rescue operations at the site are ongoing. The strike occurred on November 2, targeting a school building used for aid distribution and a shelter, according to Ukrainian officials. Acting regional governor Mykhailo Semikin stated that rescue work continues for the fifth day, with about 200 residents remaining in the frontline village. The attack was condemned by the UN, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said nine bombs were used, hitting aid recipients first and then rescuers and police who arrived. Since early 2026, 166 people have been evacuated from the village, including 77 elderly and 33 disabled individuals.
