Russian strikes on Ukraine's power grid cut heating in Kyiv and five regions

estrepublicain.fr (French) —

Russian strikes targeted Ukrainian energy infrastructure overnight, causing power outages in five regions and disrupting heating in Kyiv. Moscow used 36 missiles and 172 drones in the attack, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky. The Ukrainian Energy Ministry reported significant damage to transport and distribution networks in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, and Kharkiv regions. At least nine people were wounded, including a child, across roughly ten regions. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said the strikes damaged the North Bridge over the Dnieper River and energy facilities, complicating heating and water supply. Zelensky framed the bombardment as Russia preparing for trilateral talks in Abu Dhabi on November 10-11.
